Why he might be annoying
He is Africa's last absolute monarch.
The Swazi constitution adopted in 2006 gives him the power to overrule the rest of the constitution.
He proposed branding HIV-positive people to deal with the country's AIDS crisis.
He tried to use government funds to buy a private jet for $45 million - equal to twice the national health care budget.
After he selected his 11th wife, her mother claimed she had been kidnapped and sued to regain custody.
He repeatedly ignored attempts by the courts to interview his fiance to determine if she was willingly marrying the king.
His 13th marriage, to a 17 year old girl, violated his own decree banning sexual relations for Swazis under age 18.
Why he might not be annoying
He restored the nation's Parliament, which his father had dissolved.
Due to protests, he did not buy the $45 million plane.
The mother of his 11th wife dropped her suit when the bride-to-be publicly announced she had gone to the palace of her own free will and was in love the king.
He paid the required fine of one cow for violating the chastity decree with his 13th marriage.
