She was not as ambitious as her two other Italian sexpot competitors (Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida. Her career was completely controlled by her husband Dino De Laurentiis.
In 1983, she abandoned her career to live in Paris and Madrid making tapestries.
She separated from her husband in 1983 but she never divorce him (he died in 1989).

She died from lung cancer.
Her son Fredrico was killed in an air crash.
She participated in the 'Miss Italia' contest (1947).
She was sexy without having to portray the female stereotype (bitch or femme fatal),
