Why they might be annoying
They have frequent line-up changes.
There is an out of place scream during 'Love Rollercoaster.' It legendarily came from the model who posed for the album cover. It was said she was kneeling on fiber glass and pouring honey on herself. The fiber glass reacted with the honey, by sticking to her legs, and ripping her skin off.
The band left the scream in the song as a cruel joke.
Another myth grew that the scream was from the victim of murder in the studio.
They didn't dispel either myth since it help sells more records.
Why they might not be annoying
They were one of the most entertaining live funk bands.
Clarence Satchell died of a brain aneurism (1996).
They were heavily influenced by Sly Stone.
They were compared to Parliament Funkadelic.
They had an original sound that had blues, funk, R&B and soul influences.
They featured a naked woman on their 'Honey' album cover.
