Why they might be annoying:

They entered the New Faces television talent contest, and finished second to last (1973).
Founding member Phil Judd quit following an American tour during which he punched out Tim Finn backstage after a concert (1977).
After Chrysalis Records terminated their recording contract (1978), several members ended up on the dole until the New Zealand Arts Council provided a $5,000 grant.
’Six Months in a Leaky Boat’ was looking like a potential hit in Britain until the BBC banned it, having decided that references to leaky boats might undermine morale during the Falkland Islands War.

With ‘True Colours,’ they became the first band to record a video for every song on an album.
Neil Finn and latter-day drummer Paul Hester went on to form Crowded House.
