The Resume

    (October 26, 1942-November 16, 1979)
    Born in Macon, Georgia
Road manager for the Allman Brothers Band (1969-70) and the Dixie Dregs (1976-79)
    Died in a skydiving accident

Why he might be annoying:

    He abused amphetamines.
One of his duties as the Allman Brothers’ road manager was keeping an up-to-date list of the ages of consent in each state.
In a dispute over $500 owed to the Allman Brothers Band, he stabbed club owner Angelo Aliotta five times, killing him (April 30, 1970).
He was found not guilty on grounds of temporary insanity after his lawyer convinced the judge that life on the road with the Allman Brother Band had driven Lyndon nuts.
He wound up serving 18 months in jail before the trial and six months in a psychiatric hospital after the trial.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a Vietnam veteran.
Manager Phil Walden sent him to identify Otis Redding’s body after the singer died in a plane crash.
When the Allman Brothers Band members first moved to Macon, they crashed at his apartment (and for a while mostly lived off of his checks from the Veterans Administration).
Musician Thom Doucette noted, ‘Twiggs had road managed for Little Richard, Percy Sledge and other guys on the chitlin circuit – the toughest of environments you can imagine – and he was very, very proud of the fact that he had always gotten paid. He treated that like Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games played streak.’
