Inventor

The Resume

    (November 16, 1952- )
Created 'Super Mario Brothers,' 'The Legend of Zelda,' 'Donkey Kong' and 'Star Fox' video game series'
Aided in the production, design and support of hundreds of other games
Develops projects for Nintendo ever since their stint in the arcade business (before the Nintendo Entertainment System was introduced)

Why he might be annoying:

He is often criticized for making his games too childish.
He had a hand in the development of the Pokemon games for the Nintendo 64 and Gameboy.
His games give Nintendo a soft image, causing developers of mature games to avoid the Nintendo market.
His games are the same thing over and over again, usually with the same plot and the same basic concept with each game.
He changed the look of the main character of his most critically acclaimed series, The Legend of Zelda, from a more mature-looking adult to a anime-looking kid, which drew both strong criticism and strong praise.
His 'Super Mario Brothers' games have borderline drug references, with power-ups such as magic mushrooms and fire flowers.
Some believe his games participate in making American kids obese.
    He plays the banjo.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He created the screen-scroller genre.
His games, although repetitive, are extremely addicting.
He brought gaming out of the rut it fell in after Atari collapsed with several titles which today are considered to be classics.
His games appealed to the casual gamer and didn't require you to think a whole lot.
'Super Mario Brothers 3,' his last Mario game on the NES, sold over 40 million copies worldwide and is the best selling game of all time.
'Donkey Kong 3,' an arcade game he created, is the best selling arcade game of all time with over 500,000 units sold.
'Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' outsold the box office the week it was released.
He has worked with nearly every big name developer in the business during his career, from Squaresoft to Capcom.
He keeps small children occupied with his games.
He is one of the (if not, the) most honored developer in gaming, yet he has stayed loyal to his original employer, Nintendo.
