    (March 14, 1941- )
    Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Confirmed as head of National Intelligence (August 5, 2010)
Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) from September 2001 until June 2006

Why he might be annoying:

His last name (Clap On! Clap Off! The Clapper!)
He falsely asserted that the NSA was not gathering data on millions of American telephone calls, leading to accusations of perjury and calls for his resignation when the truth was discovered.
When he was pressed by Andrea Mitchell on the NSA scandal, he defended himself by saying: 'I responded in what I thought was the most truthful, or least untruthful, manner by saying no.'
He was accused of leaking classified information to CNN regarding briefings on the Russia Steele dossier.
He was accused of xenophobia after telling Chuck Todd that Russians are 'genetically driven to act deviously.'

Why he might not be annoying:

His father worked in signals intelligence during World War II.
He has been married to his wife for over fifty years.
He has served under four presidents.
He was the first simultaneous director of both defense intelligence for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence.
He has been a vocal critic of Russian cyberattacks and election meddling.
He was among the recipients of Cesar Sayoc's mail bomb plot (an explosive device was delivered to CNN's Manhattan office addressed to him).
