At a Ku Klux Klan meeting, she said: 'When one of your wives or sisters gets raped by a nigger, maybe then you will get smart and join the klan' (1974).
That comment cost her the Revlon contract, and a movie studio dropped a film about her life.
She decided to backtrack, saying some of her best friends were black.
She was divorced.
She has a bluebird tattoo on her stomach.

She is the first female jockey to be a leading apprentice (1969).
Dying of cancer, she committed suicide (1991).
She posed semi nude in Playboy (1973).
She rode three races, just hours after giving birth to her first child.
She broke 50 bones in her body.
She wore flowered bikini panties under her jockey silks, jokingly claiming it would give the jockeys behind her something to look at.
