Football Coach
The Resume
(May 17, 1952- )
Head Coach of Washington Redskins (1994-2000), Oakland Raiders (2004-2006)
Why he might be annoying
He frequently stutters in interviews (most of what he says is 'Uhhhh').
He lost many close games as head coach of the Redskins.
He is fiery and animated when his teams are winning but stoic and withdrawn when his teams are getting beaten.
He has not experienced anywhere near the success as a head coach that he enjoyed as an offensive coordinator.
As a backup quarterback at Oregon, his spirals were so bad they were referred to as 'Norvals.'
Why he might not be annoying
He is widely considered to be the best offensive coordinator in the business.
Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman have all spoken about how much he meant to their careers.
In three seasons as offensive coordinator for the Cowboys, Aikman compiled a 91.7 rating, and Emmitt Smith won three consecutive NFL rushing titles.
He was fired late in the 2000 season by Daniel Snyder with a winning record and his team in the playoff hunt.
He is the only coach to have a winning record under Snyder.
He won the NFC East in 1999, and was a botched snap from potentially leading his team to the NFC title game against the Rams.
He was raised in Martinez, CA, and has called coaching the Raiders 'his only dream job.'
