Why she might be annoying:

What's up with those self-serving book titles?
She was married and divorced three times, her first marriage lasting just one year.
As a torch song singer, she cut over a dozen albums; only two charted and neither did that great.
She was Emmy nominated twice for her Rhonda Henry role, losing both times.
She was also nominated for and lost a Golden Globe in 1964 and a Tony in 2001.

Why she might not be annoying:

In 1959, she nearly lost her life and needed an abortion due to an ectopic pregnancy.
Some time later she gave birth to a healthy baby and adopted two more children.
She did win one award; a 1958 Emmy for 'Best Actress-Single Performance' in an episode of 'Playhouse 90.'
She became a successful business entrepreneur, founding Polly Bergen Cosmetics, Polly Bergen Jewelry and Polly Bergen Shoes.
She's ambitious in many areas, stating, 'I'm one of those people who always needs a mountain to climb. When I get up a mountain as far as I think I'm going to get, I try to find another mountain.'
