Circus Performer

The Resume

    (January 9, 1881-July 3, 1904)
Born in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan, Canada
Known as Beaupré the Giant and the Willow Bunch Giant
Grew to the height of 8 feet, 3 inches
Toured the North American freak show circuit and performed at several circuses, including Barnum and Bailey
Died of a massive pulmonary hemorrhage at age 23

Why he might be annoying:

His growth rate was at a normal range until age seven, but by age nine, he was six feet tall.
He had 19 younger brothers and sisters, all normal height.
His dream of being a cowboy was for naught, as his feet touched the ground when he rode a horse.
His condition left him feeling isolated and he often drank to excess.
Since he couldn't find gainful employment, he whored himself out to circus freak shows - lifting horses, bending iron bars and wrestling strongmen for cash.
After his death, an autopsy revealed he was still growing and could have become the tallest person ever (due to an abnormal growth hormone).

Why he might not be annoying:

He learned to speak French, English, Cree, Sioux, and Michif.
When he was a teen, a horse kicked him in the face, permanently disfiguring him (as if he didn't have enough problems).
He could lift horses weighing up to 900 pounds onto his shoulders.
During the last few years of his short life, tuberculosis robbed him of his strength.
He collapsed and died during a show at the Louisiana Purchase exposition in St. Louis.
His family could not afford to bring him home, so undertakers displayed his embalmed body to recoup costs.
From there, his body went to a Montreal museum, a circus that went bankrupt, then was found in a shed and shipped to the anatomy department of the Université de Montréal for mummification.
A nephew discovered his whereabouts in 1975, but it took another 15 years before his body was finally released to be properly cremated and buried in his hometown.
