He built an entire career upon his strange looks.
He insured his eyes in case they ever became uncrossed.
His style of physical comedy made him unable to adjust to full-length feature comedies.
He was so stingy that he'd clean his own apartment block to avoid paying the janitor.
He'd be creepy to meet in a dark alley.

He was extremely careful with his money.
He was one of Mack Sennett's biggest stars.
He started crossing his eyes on vaudeville when it got big laughs, and his right eye eventually became stuck.
He could do extremely difficult physical feats, including tumbling backwards.

He retired from the movies to care for his ailing wife.
