They root for the team with the worst record of the 20th century. (Yes, even worse than the Cubs).
Up until its implosion, the Vet was considered the worst ball park of its time.
Their ball park has a jail (for football fans).
When the team is doing poorly, their only sellouts are for fireworks' night.
Money was raised for the stadium by a 2% tax on rental cars, in other words the stadium was paid for by visitors to Philadelphia.
When J.D. Drew signed with the Cardinals instead of the Phillies, fans pelted him with batteries.
They route for the first pro sports team to lose 10,000 games (July 15, 2007).
Why they might not be annoying
They get to play with the Phillie Fanatic.
In good times and in bad, they stick with their team.
They get to enjoy delicious Philly Cheese Steaks at home games.
They rallied for the team to erect a life size statue of Mike Schmidt outside the new Citizens' Bank Park.
They are greeted by 10 foot statues of Ritchie Ashburn, Steve Carlton, Mike Schmidt and Robin Roberts when entering the ball park.
Home Runs are celebrated by the ringing of a mock Liberty Bell.
Although Mitch Williams is blamed for their 1993 World Series lose, the fans still love him.
Many fans stayed for an entire rain delayed doubleheader until 4:45 AM.
They watched their team trailing by 7 games with 17 games left to play win their division (2007).
