The Resume

    (September 28, 1958- )

Why he might be annoying:

He worked as a lawyer, prior to working in the Major League Baseball office.
He got his break in the league by working through labor negotiations.
He faced a lawsuit from a minority umpire for racial discrimination (2016).
His suggestions to modernize the league were met with mixed receptions.
He broke a tradition of alternating the All-Star Game between the two leagues, as the game was held in a National League stadium for four consecutive years (2015-18).

Why he might not be annoying:

He grew up a fan of the New York Yankees.
Like his predecessors, he refused to lift the lifetime ban on Pete Rose.
He presided over the end of the Chicago Cubs 108 year World Series drought (2016).
He is considered friendly towards fans and media personalities alike, which is a stark contrast to his predecessor, Bud Selig.
He eliminated the incentive of the league who wins the All-Star Game getting home field advantage in the World Series, by replacing it with the team with the better record (similar to the other professional sports leagues).
He said his goals as commissioner included youth outreach, improved player relations, and quickening the pace of the game.
