Amphlett received a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the Australian Film Institute for her performance in 'Monkey Grip.'
One record company offered to fix Amphlett's protruding teeth, but she refused, stating 'I am what I am.'
In 1991, 'I Touch Myself' went to #1 on Billboard's singles charts in Australia, #4 in the U.S. and #10 in the U.K.
The video for 'I Touch Myself' was controversial, with Amphlett tied-up in fishnet stockings.
They both have collaborated with other rock artists and Amphlett has written songs for Chrissie Hynde and Cyndi Lauper.
