Terrorist

The Resume

    (March 31, 1916-December 9, 1982)
    Born in El Paso, Texas
    Regular White House nuclear protester
Threatened to blow up the Washington Monument, claiming he had 1,000 lbs of explosives in his van and an unseen accomplice (both false)
Held eight people at the monument hostage for 10 hours
After releasing hostages, shot to death while trying to flee in his van by U.S. Park Police at age 66

Why he might be annoying:

He got into a fistfight with anyone who touched him.
A tool & die maker by trade, he had drifted through many odd jobs, including gold digger, helicopter repairman, hotel maintenance man, oil rig worker and rubber company employee.
He wrote to Playboy magazine claiming to have had sex with 2,800 women.
He was a poor businessman who was bilked out of thousands of dollars.
He got busted in Hong Kong for trying to smuggle 44 lbs of marijuana to L.A. (April 1976)
He served 15 months in jail before being released on a technicality and deported back to the U.S.
During the siege, the F.B.I. contacted his brother, who told them talking was a waste of time as his brother 'was too bullheaded to leave the monument any way but dead.'
After being shot twice in the arm, once in the chin and once in the left temple, his van overturned and he was asked if he has explosives.
His last dying words were, 'Yes, I have a thousand pounds,' which was a lie.
He felt that nobody was paying attention to his concerns about nuclear arms and decided to go out in a blaze of glory/gunfire.

Why he might not be annoying:

His dad died when he was two and his mom sent him and his brother to live at New Orleans Jewish Children's Home.
In 1944 he was drafted into the U.S. Navy during World War II, and after two years, discharged as a fireman first class.
While working on an oil rig in Brunei in 1971, he seriously injured in an accident.
During his Hong Kong incarceration he studied law, acted as his own attorney and found a loophole that set him free.
Fellow protesters stated he was grandstanding and never meant to hurt anybody, that's why he had no weapons, and cops overreacted.
U.S. Park Police claimed their sharpshooters were aiming at his van's engine, yet he was hit with four bullets.
Because he was a Navy vet, he was afforded burial at Arlington National Cemetery.
