Why he might be annoying:

He performed for Adolf Hitler.
He also sang for guards at Dachau concentration camp.
He referred to Hitler as ‘a good guy,’ and when his wife pointed out Hitler’s crimes he said, ‘but he was so nice to me.’
He is despised by many Dutch people because of his connections with the Nazis.

Why he might not be annoying:

He apologized for calling Hitler ‘a good guy.’
He acted in the film ‘1 ½ Ritter' at the age of 104.
He said ‘My secret to a long, healthy life is to always keep working. It keeps me busy and happy, and gives me a reason to stay alive.’
As of 2005, he held the record for being the world’s oldest working performer.
His daughter is also an actress.
He says he was never a member of the Nazi party.
