Actress
    (December 10, 1918-March 31, 2003)
    Born in Waco, Texas
Birth name was Marguerite Gwynne Trice
Appeared in the films 'Black Friday' (1940), 'Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe' (1940), 'The Green Hornet' (1940), 'The Black Cat' (1941), 'Ride 'Em Cowboy' (1942), 'House of Frankenstein' (1944), 'Weird Woman' (1944), 'The Glass Alibi' (1946), 'Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome' (1947) and 'Teenage Monster' (1958)
Maternal grandmother of actor Chris Pine
She got her big break, modeling for Catalina Swimwear, through the influence of her father, a wealthy clothing manufacturer.
She said about her first films, 'I spoke too high-pitched and much too fast. I needed a lot of training.'
At Universal, she appeared mainly in B-grade westerns, sci-fi and horror films.
She recalled, 'I wish I had been more insistent on better parts. Maria Montez complained about absolutely everything and warned me not to be so co-operative. They made her a star, and I'm sure her demands had a lot to do with it.'
Her looks were so striking that Universal signed her without a screen test.
She was a popular pin-up in WWII, when she was dubbed 'the TNT Girl' (for 'Trim, Neat and Terrific').
Her best friend on the Universal lot was fellow 'scream queen' Evelyn Ankers.
She had to move into the Motion Picture Home after suffering a series of strokes.
