Why he might be annoying:

    He has held political office for most of his adult life — career politician.
    He has a gravelly voice. (Can somebody please get this guy a lozenge?)
    He divorced his first wife Larke in 1987.
    He opposes free trade, using Ohio's manufacturing job loss as an excuse.
    He supports universal health care (read: socialized health care).
    As Ohio Secretary of State, his employees were investigated for drug trading.
    Rush Limbaugh thought he was an African-American after first hearing his name.
    He was accused of not paying an unemployment tax for 13 years.
    He says ad nauseam that Medicare Part D was written by the drug industry for personal benefit...

Why he might not be annoying:

    He became an Eagle Scout in 1967.
    There is no question that he wants to boost the minimum wage.
    He was first elected to political office at 21 years old and has lost only one election.
    He remarried in 2004 to Pulitzer Prize winner Connie Schultz.
    He also opposes free trade because it lacks international labor and human rights standards.
    As a college student, he organized the first Earth Day parade in his town.
    He supports the alternative of fair trade over total protectionism.
    Unlike a lot of Democrats, he has consistently opposed the Iraq War.
    He was cleared on the drug trading and the unemployment tax scandals.
    He was one of six Democrats to oust Republican incumbents in the 2006 Senate elections.
    He refuses to accept Congress' health plan until all Americans have health coverage.
    He attended Yale like U.S. Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.
