Why he might be annoying

He supports Southern independence but wants to keep this support out of the public eye.

Why he might not be annoying
He writes in a very literate but accessible and non-technical style.
He wrote 'How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization' in answer to critics who claim the Church has been an impediment to human progress.
He specializes in books that expose common myths about history, politics, and religion and which promote personal freedom and minimal government interference in our lives.
He's a very capable magazine editor; editing The Latin Mass magazine for eleven years and was editor of The Libertarian Journal for the Ludwig Von Mises Institute.
His books have been translated into over a dozen foreign languages and are particularly popular in eastern Europe.
In one remarkable article, he points out that Wal-Mart provides poor people with jobs and more choices at lower prices but is opposed by some people who claim it exploits the poor!
In his work, he shows that even moderate social welfare ideas such as distributionism (popular among his fellow Catholics) involves government coercion, the loss of freedom, and just don't work.
He's anti-war and wrote 'Who killed the Constitution? The Fate of American Liberty from WWI to George W. Bush in support of the rights of anti-war protesters.
