Why he might be annoying:

He is a grown adult who goes by the name 'Spanky.'
He has been married twice, divorced once.
He makes you feel like even more of a slug than usual for sitting around surfing the net when you could be out getting some damn exercise.

Why he might not be annoying:

There probably aren't too many people kidding him to his face about being called 'Spanky.'
He said his reaction to the loss of his leg was, 'That's life, let's start moving forward.'
He skis and competes in triathlons.
He became the first full-leg amputee to return to duty in a combat zone.
Many fellow Marines were unaware he was an amputee until they saw him in shorts at the base exercise room.
He said, 'My wife Chaney is the hero. I just support.'
