Why he might be annoying
He was just one letter short of being a rusty hammer.
He portrayed an obnoxious twerp, flawlessly.
Once the show ended he didn't receive acting offers until he signed on for the short lived 'follow-up' series.
He never found film work after that series ended.
He turned to alcohol and became severely depressed.
He was violent and embittered.
He became a drifter, taking odd jobs in restaurants and oil rigs.
When he had enough of continuous poverty he put a bullet through his head at age 42 (January 18, 1990).
Why he might not be annoying
He went uncredited in the movie 'Fort Ti (1953).'
As a kid he had a great sense of humor.
His sad summation of his career: 'My life as a child bore no resemblance to what I believed was normal; i.e., the way people lived on television, a medium I mistook for my window on reality. Even on TV, though, peer models were scarce, which is why I ended up identifying with a kid I didn't even like.'
His father died when he was six.
He regretted receiving an inferior education and missed out on interacting with other children.
He settled in Louisiana where he took odds jobs of messenger and house painter.
