Why he might be annoying
He is a French citizen.
When arrested, he was in possession of equipment, including knives and shields.
He demanded for a jury of 12 Taliban members, invoking a constitutional right to be tried by his peers.
He accused the FBI of letting 9/11 happen and claimed that he should be released because of it.
He requested to have high-level Al-Qaida leaders testify on his behalf (which is a threat to national security).
He was supposed to be one of the 9/11 hijackers.
The French government thinks they can give him a fair trial and the US cannot.
His name is hard to spell.
He prayed at the same mosque that Richard Reid (the shoe bomber) did.
He said: 'I was not 9/11 material, but a wanna-be post-9/11 terrorist.'
Why he might not be annoying
He received a master's degree from Southbank University in the UK.
His failure meant that he never directly caused American deaths.
The judge accepted his guilty plea (Aprill 22, 2005).
