    Holds over 20 USA Shooting and National Rifle Association records
    First gold medalist at the Rio Olympics, in the 10-meter Air Rifle event (Aug. 6, 2016)

Why she might be annoying:

    She originally wanted to go into figure skating.
    She saw a UVW sports psychiatrist to develop a strong mindset for the sharp shooting sport.
    She got interested in shooting at the age of 14, after shooting a deer on a hunting trip with her father and brothers.
    She later said of the experience, 'the adrenaline rush was incredible ... They didn’t think I was going to pull the trigger. They didn’t think I could kill a deer.'
    She was quickly anointed as a modern-day Annie Oakley by Right-wing gun nuts like Wisconsin Senator Ben Sasse and Wayne LaPierre.
    This despite the fact that she has expressed very little interest in weighing in on gun control issues, even calling the debate 'distracting to our sport.'

Why she might not be annoying:

    She has the perfect 'action hero' name.
    She led the WVU Mountaineers to their a Fourth Consecutive NCAA Championship.
    She won five medals at the 2015 US Shooting National Championship.
    Her father was in the military, resulting in their constantly moving when she was a child.
    She was both the youngest UVW Mountaineer and the youngest on the 2016 US shooting team.
    She made it to the Rio Olympics by beating out a crowded and competitive field (despite never having competed internationally before).
    She not only claimed the first Gold medal for her home country, but the first gold medal in the Rio Olympics period.
    She was attacked on Twitter, in graphic terms, by angry anti-gun activists who accused her of promoting shooting violence.
