Why he might be annoying
He prefers to be called Judge Larry Joe, rather than the more respectable Judge Doherty.
He gives home spun wisdom.
He talks with a deep southern drawl, that has to scare Jews and Blacks alike.
He is a rehash of the number of court shows on TV.
His court room has a rustic look.
Litigants are instructed to think carefully and talk 'very forceful.'
Why he might not be annoying
His show does very well in Southern Cities.
They tape 10 half hour shows in a day and pay audience members $40 for the day.
Texas Justice hires a lot of security, because litigants have gotten into physical fights.
He is not a control freak like most TV Judges, and allows the litigants to squabble and talk out of turn.
