Why he might be annoying:

He went through about half a dozen pipes a day because he kept losing them.
He was so absent-minded that he sometimes forgot to put his clothes on.
Ernest Schoedsack and he staged many of the events in their documentaries.
He rejected Poland's highest military decoration for his service in the Polish-Soviet War.
He cast himself and co-director Schoedsack as the pilots that shoot down King Kong, saying that 'we should kill the sonafabitch ourselves.'
'King Kong' was allegedly Adolf Hitler's favorite movie.

He created one of the most popular film monsters of all time.
He is considered one of Hollywood's greatest and most influential producers and film innovators.
He teamed Fred Astaire with Ginger Rogers, gave Katherine Hepburn her first screen test, helped promote Technicolor, and pioneered the use of wide-screen Cinerama in films.
He had a reputation for being a fearless adventurer and having a deep passion for life.
He served in both World War I and World War II.
He organized and served in a volunteer squadron to fight the Soviet invasion of Poland.
He escaped from a Soviet P.O.W. camp and walked 400 miles to safety (1920).
He worked successfully with the notoriously difficult David O. Selznick and John Ford.
