He claimed he was a centenarian although his birth year is unknown. Historians generally accept that 1487 was his actual birth year.
He was known by the nicknames 'Da Cadore' (after his birthplace) and 'Il Divino' but rarely his birth name.
His 'St. John the Baptist' makes him look like he is grabbing his balls.
Some of the nude women in his paintings were fatties.
He got an exclusive patent to paint for Venice, shutting out other artists.
He was a perfectionist and he would keep paintings on the shelf for decades before releasing them.
Why he might not be annoying
He makes religion look interesting.
He was proud about his age in a time without senior citizen discounts.
He was fortunate enough to live in an era where it would be inappropriate to nickname his fans 'titties.'
He was given the freedom of the city of Rome (1546).
He has been called the greatest of the Venetian painters.
