AmIAnnoying.com Most and Least Annoying of 2007
AmIAnnoying.com’s seventh annual poll has come to a close and more than 7 million voters have chosen Lindsay Lohan as the most annoying celebrity of 2007.
For Lohan, 2007 will be a year to remember. She checked herself in and out of rehabilitation centers three times to combat addictions to drugs and alcohol. She was arrested twice for DUI and possession of illegal drugs. She was sued once for running over a photographer and again for chasing a woman with her SUV. Lohan also backed out of a movie role days before shooting, threatened to quit Hollywood, fired her mother as manager and had an adulterous affair with a married man.
AmIAnnoying.com, the site that gives a voice to thousands of visitors daily, and millions per year, is the only poll of its kind to be decided exclusively from people around the world. Throughout the year, visitors read up on and voted on over 22,000 famous celebrities and groups, sharing their opinions on who they found annoying and not annoying.
“It’s no wonder that the news section of Lindsay Lohan’s official website hasn’t been updated since 2005.” says Marc Cutler, a spokesperson for AmIAnnoying.com. “It’s all bad news! Lohan hasn’t released an album since 2005 and her movie career was practically non-existent in 2007. Though Britney Spears would be another worthy choice for this year’s Annoying honors, it’s hard to argue with the voters on Lohan.”
Lohan ranked ninth in 2006, a year when Star Jones held top honors. This year, Jones, who might not be on The View anymore, hasn’t been forgotten and only slipped down to second on the list. Jones was followed by Mother-of-the-Year candidate Britney Spears. Paris Hilton and Fergie were voted fourth and fifth respectively.
AmIAnnoying.com also published lists for the Least Annoying Celebrity, Most Annoying Public Figure, and Least Annoying Public Figure.
Kylie Minogue stepped back into the spotlight in 2007 after surviving breast cancer and was crowned Least Annoying Celebrity, followed by actress/humanitarian Angelina Jolie. Osama bin Laden maintained his position as the Most Annoying Public Figure for a second straight year, with Vice President Dick Cheney coming in 3rd. Presidential hopeful, Barack Obama, was voted Least Annoying Public Figure, a sign of his strong popularity as we enter a crucial election year.
