The Resume
(1970-1975)
Formed in Mentor, Ohio
Original line-up:

Wally Bryson-Guitar
Jim Bonfanti-Drums

Recorded 'Go All The Way,' I Wanna Be With You,' 'Lets Pretend,' 'Tonight' and 'Overnight Sensation (Hit Record)'
Why they might be annoying
They opted for the well groomed hair/matching suits/squeaky clean persona, à la The Osmonds.
Their original bassist left the band before they ever recorded, so Carmen had to learn to play bass fast.
Carmen garnered too much creative control over material and songwriting duties.
After their third album, 'Side 3,' Bonfanti and Smalley quit the band and were hastily replaced.
In 1999, the original members met and Billboard magazine all but assured a reunion tour was in the making - which turned out to be just rumor.
Bryson and Smalley recorded an album under the Raspberries name, 'Refreshed' (2000). It was a huge flop.
Why they might not be annoying
They were the first group to incorporate a newly developed technology on their self-titled debut album; 'scratch-n-sniff.'
They (naturally) chose raspberry scent.
'Go All The Way' was a Top 5 smash and the single sold over one million units (summer 1972).
Groups listed as followers of their music include The Cars, Cheap Trick, The Knack, Sweet and Ben Folds Five.
Eric Carmen has gone on to a successful solo career with hits such as 'All By Myself,' 'Never Gonna Fall In Love Again,' 'She Did It' and 'Hungry Eyes.'
