She fed her dog filet mignon and her cats caviar.

While modeling for (and making love to) the leading artists of her day, she learned their techniques and became a success in her own right.
She was the first woman painter admitted to the Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
Her candid paintings of female nudes were considered shocking in her day.
Utter was an alcoholic who flaunted his affairs and beat her.
