Why she might be annoying:

She's written as much adult-related content as she has kids books, but is only recognized for the latter.
Her best known book's title has become news headline shorthand for celebrities or politicians experiencing setbacks and/or outright failure over a period of time (day, week, month, or even year).
Examples include 'Dick Cheney's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day' (Newsweek), 'Obama's week? 'Horrible, no good' (Politico), 'Rudy Giuliani's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week' (Salon)... you get the picture.
Ironically, in 2010, her book was adapted by Disney into a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad movie starring Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner.
She stretched out both the 'Lulu' and 'Alexander' books into their own individual series, wearing out a good concept in both cases.

Why she might not be annoying:

She is known for her humorous observational poetry.
'Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day' has sold over two million copies since its initial publication.
She signed the Writers and Editors War Tax Protest pledge in 1968, vowing to refuse tax payments in protest against the Vietnam War.
Her most famous book became an internet meme.
She shared an for Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series as part of the writing team for 'Annie, the Women in the Life of a Man' (1970).
After two decades of writing for children and adults, she turned to the study of Freudian psychology, earning her degree in 1981.
As a newspaper columnist, she has written frequently for The New York Times and The Washington Post.
