    He looked like a poor man's Phil Collins.
    He and his wife were in the midst of divorce proceedings at the time of his death.
    Word of his separation became public knowledge, after word that his family home was sold on the Toronto real estate market for below market value.
    He often wore flashy and sparkled suits while performing.
    He often declined interviews and taking part in high profile events in the entertainment industry.
    He developed nationwide cult-hero status in his home country of Canada, after his illness became public knowledge.
    His poetic lyric writing skills made The Tragically Hip one of Canada's notable music acts between the 1980's and 2000's.
    He was the godson of longtime Boston Bruins executive Harry Sinden.
    He was extremely proud of his Canadian heritage, which reflected in the majority of The Tragically Hip's song catalog.
    He advocated for social change regarding First Nations people in Canada.
    He was described as being a very humble and modest man by his bandmates and fans alike.
    He received the Order of Canada a few months prior to his death (August, 2017).
