Why he might not be annoying
He is a Rock and Roll pioneer.
He died when the plane he was in (along with Ritchie Vallens and J.P. Richardson), crashed outside Clear Lake, Iowa. He died at age 22 (February 3, 1959).
Buddy and Waylon Jennings reportedly joked about the plane crashing before Buddy got in it.
He played as the opening act for Elvis Presley, Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash.
Many of his early recordings have been lost over time.
He learned how to play the guitar, piano and the violin at an early age.
Many musicians sight Buddy Holly as an influence of their careers.
Buddy claimed that he owed his entire career to Elvis.
Don McLean's 'American Pie' song is about Buddy's plane crash.
Weezer wrote a tribute song 'Buddy Holly' to him, primarily because their front man Rivers Cuomo looks like Buddy.
