U.S. Congressman

The Resume

    (April 2, 1950- )
    Born in Atlanta, Georgia
    Represents Georgia's 3rd District (January 3, 2005-January 3, 2017)
    Republican

Why he might be annoying:

He co-sponsored a bill to place the Ten Commandments in the House, the Senate and courtrooms.
When he appeared on the Colbert Report, he could only name three of the commandments.
He voted against providing relief for Hurricane Katrina victims.
He called Barack and Michelle Obama 'uppity.' (September 4, 2008).
Despite growing up in the south during the racially-charged 50s and 60s, he then insisted, 'I've never heard that term used in a racially derogatory sense.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He co-sponsored a bill to reduce abuse of earmarks in appropriations.
A spokesperson claimed he actually remembered seven Commandments and the Colbert Report edited out four.
If his bill had passed and the Commandments were posted in the House, he might have had enough study opportunities to eventually learn all ten.
