Why he might be annoying:

His weather reports featured corny jokes and odd stories.
He had an odd rapport with 'Today Show' weatherman Al Roker.
He portrayed Bozo the Clown in Washington, DC (1959-62).
He created Ronald McDonald and appeared as Ronald in three McDonald's commercials.
McDonald's replaced him as spokesperson for somebody thinner (go figure).
He suffered with anxiety.
Despite his lengthy career, he will be remembered for wishing centenarians a happy birthday.

Who else is going to wish great-grandma a happy 100th birthday?
He began as a page for NBC radio and worked his way up to 'Today Show' weatherman.
He worked as the official White House Santa Claus.
After his wife died of breast cancer, he donated the royalties from 'The Joy of Living' to breast cancer research.
He received numerous awards for his commitment to public service.
He graduated American University.
He served in the United States Navy.
