Why he might be annoying:

That hair.
Inexplicably he struggled against some very average opponents with his only loss and draw coming against virtually unknown opponents, and he barely retained his title with a split decision against the mediocre Pat Cowdell.
His death at an young age will always leave his legacy a 'what if?' question.
The auto accident in which he was killed was entirely his fault.

Why he might not be annoying:

Despite his truncated career, he is considered one of the greatest featherweights of all time.
He was incredibly strong physically for his size, had an outstanding chin, and was one of the best counter-punchers of all-time.
He was so physically fit for his fights that reportedly his pulse and respiration returned to normal in less than fifty seconds between rounds (a one minute break) which meant that he basically didn't get tired during his fights.
His wins over Danny Lopez (for the title) and Alfonzo Zamora are among the biggest upsets in boxing history.
He was adored by boxing fans, especially those from his native Mexico.
He earned a flawless personal reputation by staying out of trouble out of the ring.
