She was married and divorced three times.

Her father was Dirk Fock, a conductor for Amsterdam's famed Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
She earned a 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar nomination for her role in 'Executive Suite' (and won the National Board of Review Award).
She has worked with directors as a script consultant in the 1990's and has taught acting and directing classes at the University of Southern California since the 1960's.
She has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
