Why he might be annoying:

His character on 'SNL' was Father Guido Sarducci and he is one of nineteen players that have hosted the show.
He is the brother-in-law of former U.S. Surgeon General Antonia Novello.
He left New York City to join a San Francisco comedy troupe 'The Chicken Little Comedy Hour (1972).'
He is not a priest, but is often credited as Father Guido Sarducci László Tóth.
He appeared on 'Blossom (1991)' and 'The 700 Club (1966).'
He provided vocals for the album 'So...How's Your Girl?' by Handsome Boy Modelling School.
He once visited the Vatican in his costume for his character 'Father Guido Sarducci' and was arrested by the Swiss Guards for 'impersonating a priest' after he took several photographs in an area where photography is prohibited. The charges were later dropped, but the incident made news around the world. Novello later joked about the affair, suggesting that he might go to Utah and see if he could be arrested for impersonating a member of the Osmond family.

Why he might not be annoying:

He graduated from Loraine High School (1961).
In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, he said: 'I got the idea during a year that I spent in graduate school in Rome. I became very interested in the politics of the Vatican, and had some thoughts on it. I did the priest thing because I didn't want to be another guy up on stage talking about his high school friends. The priest character had authority, so people sort of paid attention and I could talk about politics from a unique point of view.'
He also worked as a writer for 'SNL.'
He graduated from the University of Dayton.
He worked as an advertising copywriter in New York City.
He co-wrote with John Belushi the unfilmed script, 'Noble Rot,' which Belushi was set to star in.
