Why he might be annoying
He was called an 'embarrassment' to Connecticut and to the Republican party.
His offer to campaign for George W. Bush was turned down.
He was investigated for accepting discounts from companies Connecticut does business with. He received free work on his home from companies that also do business with Connecticut.
Under his leadership Connecticut lent (maybe illegally) and lost $220 million to Enron.
He claimed he had no contact with Enron’s Kenneth Lay, but recordings surfaced of their conversations.
Considering his amount of wrong doing he got a very lenient sentence.
He is divorced.
In his resignation speech he all but ignored the allegations against him.
Why he might not be annoying
When he resigned he focused on his accomplishments.
He easily won election for his third term (2002).
At 37, he was Connecticut youngest governor.
The Republican Party was grooming him for higher office.
He graduated Villanova University (1979).
