Why he might be annoying:

He was known mostly for his eccentric character and outlandish style.
He smokes ganja, which attributes to his Rastafarian faith.
Most of his hits were big in both Jamaica and the UK, but unheard of in most of North America.
He earned the nickname Scratch from his movements at the mixing desk being compared to a chicken scratching the dirt for food.
His studio, the Black Ark, mysteriously burnt down.
He insists his studio burnt down due to faulty wiring, but he has also claimed that he set the fire himself.
For a brief period in the 1980s he changed his name to Pipecock Jackxon.

Why he might not be annoying:

With a studio of his own, he was able to lavish a great deal of time on the records he produced.
Bob Marley & the Wailers were his 'house band' for his studio.
He worked with many artists including Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, the Clash, and the Beastie Boys.
He won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album with the album Jamaican ET.
He continued recording with great success, and continued touring and performing at venues around the world into his 70s.
