    He did not see eye-to eye with Golden State head coach P.J. Carlesimo during his time with the Warriors. This would cumulate on December 1, 1997, when he choked and thew punches at Carlesimo during practice and in the process, threatened to kill him.
    He was suspended for the rest of the season for the incident, which lasted 68 games.
    In 2002, he was fined $250,000 for refusing to inform the Knicks that he had an injured hand.
    He sued the New York Post for $40 million for their alleged report that his broken hand was the result of a fight on his boat, while he claims that he broke it when he slipped and fell on the boat.
    He has been notorious for showing up for games late.
    He did not show up at all for training camp prior to the 1999 season, while giving no explanation at all.
    He has appeared in endorsements for Cablevision and And1 shoes, while his contract with Converse was terminated following the choking incident.
    After demanding a contract extenstion he felt insulted when the Timberwolves only offered $30 million for three years. He said 'Why would I want to help them win a championship here? They're not doing anything for me.'
    He was a favorite among Knicks fans.
    He tied an NBA record in 2003 for making the most three point shots without a miss in a game (nine).
    He has done well in his career for someone who only started to play varsity basketball as a high school senior.
    He is into computers, video games and cars.
    He stated that he wanted to use his social work degree from Alabama to aid children if he didn't play basketball.
