Why she might be annoying:

She acted in telenovelas.
She briefly attempted at a singing career.
She was made into a movie star by her husband.
She engaged in a messy lawsuit with Emilio's daughter, Adela, after his death.
She reasoned in the lawsuit that Adela, who was awarded the family estate, could not lay claim to it because she was adopted rather than his biological daughter (she claimed she had not been adopted legally).
As of 2020, the lawsuit remains unresolved - mainly because the two women died within a year of each other (Adela in 2013, herself in 2014).

She worked with Luis Bunuel during Mexico's Golden Age of cinema.
She was the closest thing Emilio Fernandez had to a stable life partner.
Her marriage to Fernandez collapsed because she was pregnant, and he did not want any more children.
She opted against an abortion and had the baby without his blessing, leading to a bitter divorce.
Their daughter died after falling off the fourth floor of a building in 1978.
She and Fernandez resumed their relationship later in life and she was with him in the hospital during the last moments of his life.
She was the first actress to film a nude scene in a Mexican movie (1956's La virtud desnuda).
She was honored with a Golden Ariel Award (basically Mexico's equivalent to an honorary Oscar) for her contributions to the Mexican film industry, in 2013.
