Recorded 'Feelings' (1975)
Why he might be annoying
He is a one-hit wonder.
'Feelings' may be the sappiest song ever recorded.
'Feelings' was popular with would-be ballad singers on 'The Gong Show.'
He was ordered to pay $500,000 to French composer Louis Gaste after a Federal court ruled that 'Feelings' was 80% plagiarized from Gaste's 'Pour Toi' (1985).
In VH-1's 'I Love the 70s,' Joe Elliott said, 'It should be a crime to write songs like that.'
Why he might not be annoying
His original Portuguese-language version of 'Feelings' was a hit in Latin America.
'Feelings' was a top 10 hit and a million-seller.
'Feelings' became an instant standard covered by everyone from Frank Sinatra to The Offspring.
Since 'Feelings' was 80% plagiarized, he is responsible for only 20% of its cheesiness.
