    His film, 'Tumbleweeds (1925),' is regarded as one of the greatest western films of all time.
    He donated his estate to Los Angeles, California on the condition that it is used only for art. Today, the West Coast branch of the Actors Studio stands there.
    He was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in 1975.
    He has a star on the walk of fame.
