Coach Art Ross was named head coach on eight separate occasions (1924-25, 1927-28, 1929-30, 1933-34, 1936-37, 1938-39, 1941-42, 1944-45).
They featured a 'Kraut Line' during the 1930's, which was made up primarily of players from German descent.
They went 29 years in-between Stanley Cup wins (1941-70).
They haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1972.
Defenseman Ray Bourque was unable to win a Stanley Cup with them and signed with the Colorado Avalanche in order to win one, which he did.
Why they might not be annoying
They were the first NHL franchise from the United States.
They are one of the NHL's core six teams.
They won their first Stanley Cup 5 years after forming.
The fans in Boston were happy when Ray Bourque won his Stanley Cup with the Avs.
Even though they haven't had much success since the early 1970's, at least they're not the Red Sox.
