The 'Today Show's' ratings skyrocketed while he was on.
Millions of fans would tune in every morning to see what zany thing he did next.
He met three US presidents.
He was a trailblazer for future simians in showbiz, such as Lancelot Link and Marcel from Friends.
He rode around on a tricycle.
Unlike Willard Scott, he never wore a toupee.
Though he bit people and wore diapers, he was still more likeable than Bryant Gumbel.
His trainer Carmine 'Bud' Mennella died at 80 (Mar, 2002)
He outlived arch-nemesis Garroway by over 20 years.
His painting adorned the cover of Mad Magazine (March 1958).
