Mike Keenan was fired after the 1995-96 season, a little while after Wayne Gretzky signed with the New York Rangers.

They beat the Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota North Stars in the first two rounds of the playoffs in their inaugural season.
Jack Buck used to call their games.
At one point in time, Brett Hull, Adam Oates, Brendan Shanahan, Scott Stevens, Al MacInnis and Curtis Joseph were all playing for the Blues.
