Why he might be annoying:

He, along with his entire family, are Sunnis while most Bahrainis are Shiites.
He shares the same name with the Emir of Qatar.
His father’s name, Isa, is the Arabic version of ‘Jesus’ (How blasphemous is that to Christians?).
His wife, Sheikha Sabika bint Ibrahim, is his own cousin.
He befriended Michael Jackson at the start of the latter’s trial on child molestation charges, and proceeded to invite him to Bahrain after he was acquitted.
He later sued Jackson for the money he received upon his arrival in Bahrain.
He opposed the Iraq War.

Why he might not be annoying:

He released all political prisoners upon his ascension to the throne.
He gave Bahraini women the right to vote.
He allowed parliamentary elections in Bahrain.
His hobbies include falconry, golf, fishing, tennis, horseback riding, and soccer.
His sixth son died in a car crash (January 13, 2006).
The Michael Jackson lawsuit was resolved (November 24, 2008).
