U.S. Congressman

The Resume

    (December 24, 1949- )
    Born in St. Louis, Missouri
    Raised in Lubbock, Texas
    Republican Representative from Texas's Nineteenth Congressional District (June 3, 2003-January 3, 2017)
Drew attention for yelling 'Baby Killer' on March 21, 2010 while Representative Bart Stupak was talking against a Republican motion to send back the just-passed United States health care reform package

Why he might be annoying:

His comment was assumed to mean the just-passed health care reform package contained federal funding for abortion, when in reality it didn't.
His comment was compared with Joe Wilson's 'You Lie!' comment made months earlier.
He has voted against gay rights.
He co-sponsored a bill to require all future US Presidential candidates to show their original birth certificate. This comes from the commonly-held Republican belief President Barack Obama is not a US citizen.

Why he might not be annoying:

He promptly apologized for his 'Baby Killer' remark, saying the presumed anti-abortion intention was misinterpreted.
He is firm in his beliefs.
He has an accounting degree from Texas Tech.
Prior to his career in politics, he had a successful career in real estate.
