Born in College Point, Queens, New York
    Full name is Ed Anzalone
    New York City Firefighter (1987-2007)
Known for his appearances at New York Jets games starting the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS chant
Wears the jersey of former Jets kick returner Bruce Harper
Started wearing fireman garb to games after a friend gave him a green-colored helmet

His appearance and behavior is reflective of what people think of Jet fans.
His claim to have started the J-E-T-S chant has been disputed.
He views himself as a bad luck charm for Jet road games and doesn't usually attend them.
A photo of him in high school in a Miami Dolphins uniform provides a source of embarassment.
During a Jets-Giants preseason game in 2010, he was charged with simple assault for going after a Giants fan who tried to interrupt his chant.
Though he remained a Jets fan and attended their games, he announced he was retiring his superfan character because of the hostile environment at Jets games, such as him being harassed for wearing a Mark Sanchez jersey (November 25, 2012).

Why he might not be annoying:

He has popularity got to the point where he was seen as the unofficial Jets mascot.
He doesn't get paid from the Jets despite his notability.
He was given a game ball in 2009 after the Jets beat the New England Patriots for the first time at home in about a decade.
After the Jets beat the Cincinnati Bengals at the end of the 2009 season, Chad Ochocinco, who was going to mimick him if he scored a touchdown that game, offered a VIP package to a playoff game between those two teams the following week.
In 1999, he was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Hall of Fans.
He received a medal from New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg for his help in pulling 300-pound man from a fire.
